Big Cab

My wine epiphany happened when I was in my early 20's. A dear friend was a dinner guest at my parent's. He shared a bottle of french red wine that I know was very special. I cannot tell you about the details of the winemaker, or the region in which the grapes were from, or the age of the bottle. I just knew that I experienced something crazy good because the food was even more delicious that evening and I had changed. This sensation was not to come about again until years later when my husband had his wine awakening. This first bottle we shared was a Pinot Noir from Monterey county. There we were over looking Stillwater cove amazed with the combination of the different flavors of food. It was a celebration. My husband now collects wine, has learned many things about wine. I do not claim to know that much about the wine I drink, I just know what it like when I have it. My husband likes a "big cab" (red cabernet) Inky, earthy and full bodied. It might have a hint of of dark chocolate and maybe a whiff of ripe cherries. So romantic
